The CES in Las Vegas is history – and thus the largest trade fair presentation ever granted by the Z-Wave Alliance. The look hasn’t changed fundamentally – general information areas and live demonstrations (“Z-Wave Experience Home”), an expert counter (“Ask an Expert”) and a variety of individual presentation counters from Z-Wave manufacturers.
But the size of the whole exhibition area was impressive and made the area – by far the largest presentation area in the “Sands Expo Convention Center” – look like a small town. Wherever you look: Z-Wave.
In total, more than 30 manufacturers presented their latest products. And despite the many individual presentations, the Z-Wave interoperability that connects all products and manufacturers with each other was in the foreground.
The exhibiting Z-Wave brands included Fibaro, Aeotec, Dome, Hank, Leedarson, Philio, Oomi, Qubino and Yale.
In addition to the presentation of the new 700 series Z-Wave chip generation, the Z-Wave Alliance also had to announce new member numbers. In keeping with the latest Z-Wave standard, the international Alliance has 700 members meanwhile, 250 more than one year ago. All in all, the Alliance members count 2,400 certified products. The outstanding position as the leading smart home wireless technology is demonstrated by the number of Z-Wave components installed worldwide: 94 million.
